about

This live recording of Nancy DuPree’s poetry creates more an atmosphere of storytelling than of reciting. The words take on weight, tone, and shape as they roll and sometimes wade off of Dupree’s tongue; they become music and at times communicate a vivid, personal story of anger, betrayal, and disgust, and other times one of joy, celebration, and humor. When poet Nancy DuPree says, "sometimes I feel/ well.../ you know how I feel cause/ you/ and/ I/ feel the same thing," she’s right and she knows you know it, too.
